This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Readwillow collects when you use readwillow.com (the "Site"), why we collect it, who we share it with and the choices you have. Readwillow ("we", "us", "our") is responsible for your personal information. You can contact us at hello@readwillow.com.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us
- Account details: your name, email address and password when you create an account. Passwords are handled securely by our website platform, and we never see them.
- Purchases: which pass you bought, when it starts and ends, and the amount paid. Payments are processed by PayPal, so we don't receive your full card or bank details.
- Messages: what you send us through the Contact form, including your name, email address, topic and message.
- Newsletter: your email address if you subscribe to our newsletter.

Information created when you use the Site
- Reading activity: the books and chapters you open while logged in, your reading progress and the books on your shelf.
- Downloads: which PDFs you download and when, so we can apply the download allowance of your pass.
- Usage limits: how many premium chapters your account opens per hour, so we can protect our books from automated copying.
- Technical data: your device and browser type, pages visited, approximate location based on your IP address, and similar information collected through cookies and our website platform.

2. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- create and manage your account;
- give you access to the books and passes you're entitled to, and apply download allowances and usage limits;
- process payments and keep records of purchases;
- send you emails about your account and pass, such as a reminder before your pass ends;
- send our newsletter, if you subscribed;
- answer your messages;
- keep the Site secure and prevent misuse;
- understand how the Site is used so we can improve it.

3. Legal bases (for readers in the EU, EEA and UK)
We process your information because it's necessary to provide the service you asked for (for example, your account and pass), to meet legal obligations (for example, keeping payment records), for our legitimate interests (for example, security and improving the Site), or with your consent (for example, the newsletter and non-essential cookies). You can withdraw your consent at any time.

4. Who we share information with
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share it only with service providers that help us run the Site:

Wix.com: hosts the Site and stores account, member and site data.

PayPal: processes payments.

Wix email tools: send account emails, pass reminders and our newsletter.

We may also share information if required by law or to protect our rights, our readers or the Site.

5. Cookies
The Site uses cookies and similar technologies. Essential cookies keep the Site working, for example to keep you logged in. Other cookies help us understand how the Site is used. Where the law requires it, we ask for your consent before using non-essential cookies, and you can change your choice at any time through the cookie banner or your browser settings. If we link to other stores through affiliate links, those stores may set their own cookies when you visit them.

6. How long we keep information
We keep your account information for as long as your account is open. Purchase records are kept for as long as needed for accounting and legal purposes. Reading activity and download records are kept while your account is open and deleted or anonymized after it's closed. Contact messages are kept as long as needed to answer them and handle any follow-up.

7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or download a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To make a request, email hello@readwillow.com. We may need to confirm your identity before we act on a request. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

8. International transfers
Our service providers may store and process information in countries other than the one where you live. When this happens, we rely on the safeguards those providers offer to protect your information.

9. Security
We use trusted service providers and reasonable measures to protect your information. No website can be completely secure, so please use a strong password and keep it private.

10. Children
Accounts and passes are for adults aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we'll delete it.

11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make important changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
